Hi! I’m Kimberly and in 2015 I wanted to develop a valuable resource to help people get on track with fitness and nutrition goals. Workouts and meal plans are the foundation of the brand. Since then and throughout its existence, it stemmed into so much more. The process of working out and eating well was something I found quite innate and was very successful with. However, after working with many people, I quickly realized that not everyone thought the same (surprise - surprise.)
And that’s when “Think Beyond Average” was born.
As a fitness instructor, both group and private, I’ve gotten the pleasure to work with a variety of different people of all age groups, ethnicities, and genders. I connect with most of my athletes (if they can handle the sass), and create relationships that make me feel like I play a positive roll in their lives.
After a few years of coaching, I began to develop a better teaching style (go figure). Boxing has been the backbone, blood and tears of my work, and it really holds a special place in my heart. It taught me to not just fight for what I want, but to never give up. More importantly, it taught me to escape “everyday life,” and just do. Through the practice of boxing, you must embrace change and be able to quickly respond in an effective way. When you perform in this way and trust the mind-body connection, we become more aware. This awareness is simply living in the present and making the best decision for that moment.
Of course, this can be translated into other aspects of life, too. I began to incorporate more thought provoking mind exercises in class. Providing subconscious, mindful messages and questions that would prompt better decision making skills. My workouts developed into exercise not just for your body, but for your mind — and that is a big part of my purpose.
TBA has always been here to serve and its soul resides on providing resources that will guide you to grow into a greater version of yourself. I look forward to making this year something we can all look back on and say, dang, I’m really glad I did that. Because, really, that’s what life is all about in the end.
